Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. 2 Corinthians 5:17
Through various opportunities, we hope to guide women to a biblical view of health, fitness and well being. Each program, study and event will seek to encourage women to incorporate multiple aspects into daily life, caring for their physical bodies as well as spiritual, mental and emotional health.
The apostle Paul spent much time walking, traveling from town to town to tell the new of Jesus Christ. Sometimes, he stopped and lived for a while. Sometimes, he just visited. This past spring, a group of women took the challenge to walk, run, bike or swim daily for 70 days. They followed the map of Paul’s first missionary journey and together, the whole crew covered over 2000 miles!
Paul’s Third Missionary Journey
Come join us as we take the challenge to walk like Paul. New Testament transportation was primarily walking. From AD 52 to AD 58, Paul travelled just over 2600 miles to share the news of Jesus Christ and plant churches. Most maps show destinations such as Galatia, Phrygia, Ephesus, Macedonia, Corinth, Troas, Assos, Mitylene, Miletus, Tyre, Caesarea. Paul finished his journey, arriving in Jerusalem around the late spring of 58 A.D.
Are you ready to walk 2600 miles by Easter? Wait. What??? Like Paul, we are taking the challenge to walk, walk and walk some more. Each week, you will receive an email with a verse for the week, encouraging you in your journey and prayer life.
Contact Pat McGinnis to join the team of women walking. You will hear more about the challenge and:
- Commit to 1, 2 or 3 miles a day for the months of January through March. You can walk, run, bike, swim—you just have to be able to measure it!
- Meet fellow travelers and join the Facebook encouragement group.
