Small Group Discipleship

Small Group Bible Study Opportunities

Throughout the week, a variety of small group Bible studies are available for you. Read through the course descriptions below for more information or open this pdf summary of the classes.

SUNDAYS

Small Group Bible Study
Sundays at 9:00 am | Locations available at the Information Center | Contact: Kevin Kite  kevin@fbcocala.org

Small groups in this model meet for a specific rotation, sometimes 10 to 12 weeks.  At the end of the rotation, we are assigned new, random groups.  Our teachers and the people in our groups change up. This allows you to get to know different groups of people and also be exposed to different teaching styles. Think musical chairs with a divine purpose.

THURSDAYS
Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) for Women
Thursdays | 9:20—11:20 am | Choir Room | Cost: No Cost | Leader: Karen McGinnis

This course year, we will be studying the book of Genesis.  There is no cost for the classes but there is a collection taken each week to help offset the materials.

Participating in a weekly BSF's daytime class  allows women the opportunity to have a meaningful connection with God and other women on an ongoing basis. The weekly gathering allows women the opportunity to gain insights from one another in discussion groups, as well as from the teaching leader's compelling    lecture. In addition to the regular weekly class, BSF provides the structure to
encourage women to read and study the Bible daily.

Moms with infants, toddlers or preschoolers receive the added benefit of a high-level preschool program for children under age six during their BSF class.

Secret Church Simulcast
Good Friday, March 29, 2013  | 6:30 PM—1:30 AM EST

We will not be hosting Secret Church this time around but you can still attend! Gather a small group together and register at lifeway.com/secretchurch to watch the event live.  The cost is $59 to do this.  OR if you wait about a week, the event video and study guide will be available for free at secretchurch.org.

What will the topic be? Heaven. Hell. The End of the World. For Christians and non-Christians alike, these topics provoke a variety of emotions and reactions: curiosity, confusion, joy, hope, fear, anticipation, or maybe even anger. Sadly, these critical topics are often embellished, fantasized, diluted, abused, or altogether avoided in our day. So what does the Bible say about these things? Is the Apocalypse upon us? Do we know what heaven will be like? What about hell? Is it literal? Is it eternal? How do we even begin to think about these mind-blowing realities? During this Secret Church, you will explore God’s Word in search of answers to these questions and more.
