WEDNESDAYS

The Book of Acts
Wednesdays Starting January 11th | 6:00—7:00 pm | Room: 206/208 | Cost: $0 | Teacher: John Redman

This series of studies in the Book of Acts continues the story that began in Luke's gospel, covering more than 30 years after the ascension of Jesus Christ into Heaven. In that short time, the Christian church was established and the gospel of salvation was taken throughout the known world - from Jerusalem to Rome. Those preaching the gospel were just ordinary people with natural human limitations but they were empowered by the Holy Spirit and thus turned the world "upside down" for Christ.

We will explore together the events and activities of the early church, expanding our understanding of how they directly relate to us today and explaining what would otherwise be many unanswered questions when we read the epistles that follow. God gave us the book of Acts to do more than satisfy our historical curiosity. Like all Scripture, its purpose is to inform and deepen our faith in Jesus Christ. Acts does this, by letting us view how Jesus kept his promise to be with his church and build his church through the presence and power of the Holy Spirit. In Acts, we watch the risen Lord use the apostles to lay the foundation of the church, and we discover the priorities that must shape the church today.

Esther: It’s Tough Being a Woman

Wednesdays January 11 — March 14 | 6:00—7:30 pm | Room: 202/204 | Cost: $15 | Teacher: Dianne Caple

Join us for an examination of this great story of threat and deliverance as Beth peels back the layers of history and shows how very contemporary and applicable the story of Esther is to our lives today.

If you've ever felt inadequate, threatened, or pushed into situations that seemed overpowering, this is the Bible study for you. Just as it was tough being a woman in Esther's day, it's tough today. This portion of God's Word contains treasures to aid us in our hurried, harried, and pressured lives.

The Story Evangelism Training
February 1 - April 11 | 6:00—7:30 pm | Room: 210/212 | Cost: $15 | Teacher: Pastor Darren Gaddis

The course will utilize The Story training materials.  The Story provides a beautiful, powerful, yet simple explanation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ using 4 major themes found in the Bible:

Creation. The Fall. The Rescue. The Restoration.

The Christian worldview is clearly communicated to those who are interested in what Christians believe and also   provides an understanding of how to become a Christian through faith in the Gospel. Join us for this journey!

THURSDAYS

Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) for Women
Thursdays 9:15—11:15 am | Choir Room | Cost: $0 | Leader: Karen McGinnis

Acts of the Apostles will be the topic for the fall 2011 and spring of 2012.

Participating in a weekly BSF's daytime class allows women the opportunity to have a meaningful connection with God and other women on an ongoing basis. The daytime classes attract stay-at-home moms, retired women, and business women who are able to schedule in a much-needed oasis during the week.

The weekly gathering allows women the opportunity to gain insights from one another in discussion groups, as well as from the teaching leader's compelling lecture. In addition to the regular weekly class, BSF provides the structure to encourage women to read and study the Bible daily. Moms with infants, toddlers or preschoolers receive the added benefit of a high-level preschool program for children under age six during their BSF class.
