First Baptist Church of Ocala

The Media Ministries at First Baptist is unique and exciting! We use the cutting edge of technology to minister and reach out to people whether they are in our church facilities or out in the world. Our Media Ministry functions in four parts, all working together and overlapping:

Technical Enhancement
This area of our Media Ministry provides technical support for every activity at our church. We use state of the art sound and lighting systems, image magnification, and a host of other tools to enhance every function where it is viable. This area is totally volunteer driven and we are always growing and branching to new areas. As we add new worship services and new activities we continue to add new faces to our team. We provide all training and no experience is necessary.

Broadcast
This area is where we take the activities of our church to the world. We broadcast two separate television ministries each week. The broadcast for our contemporary worship service airs on COX cable channel 16 in Ocala and channel 8 in Gainesville. The broadcast of our blended worship service airs on WCJB TV-20 (ABC affiliate). In addition, every church event in our sanctuary is broadcast and sermons are archived over the Internet through this website. This is another volunteer driven area where we always look to add new team members. Volunteers serve at cameras, audio recording, video switching and video directing. All training is provided and no experience is necessary.

Interactive Communications
As it sounds, this area is where we provide the tools necessary to be interactive and immediate in our response to the world around us. This is primarily our computer systems, website, and e-mail systems. While not heavily volunteer driven, there is always the need for folks to help install computers, pull cables, and assist in repairs. This is an exciting area and the training provided to any volunteer is valuable, not only to everyday life but vocationally as well.

Print Communications
The final portion of our Media Ministry is our print communications team. This area involves our weekly newsletter, monthly magazine, video distribution, and weekly Sunday bulletin. Through the efforts of this group, we can use technology and desktop publishing to communicate with our staff, members and community.
